Sacramento County is in the midst of finalizing its 2009-10 fiscal year budget, with adoption of a final spending plan expected in September. The extraordinary impacts of the recession have hit services, programs and staff hard, leading to a budget that is nearly 20% less than what was available last year.

With that in mind, the County has put numerous cost saving measures in place, laid off several hundred employees and scaled back services dramatically.
