Mission and Vision - A mission statement defines why our organization exists. It describes what we want to do for the community. Our vision is the compelling conceptual image of the desired future. It describes "what we want to be" in the twenty-first century.
Mission: Our Mission for Sacramento County is to:
- Improve quality of life in the community
- Promote individual responsibility and achievement
- Protect one another and the environment we share
- Provide innovative and cooperative quality customer service
- Recognize and seize opportunities for improvement
- Stimulate economic growth and regional cooperation
Vision: Our Vision is for Sacramento County to be:
- The most livable community with the highest quality public service
Strategic Issues and Strategic Objectives - Based on feedback from constituents and the County's workforce, the County's Strategic Plan identified the long term challenges or opportunities that are of critical importance to the community. The Strategic Issues and Objectives are intended to enable the County to focus on the highest priority goals as a whole. Performance Measures: The County's Performance Measures effort is a continuing and evolving process of continuous improvement and greater accountability to the citizens of Sacramento County. The Performance Measures, adopted by the Board of Supervisors, are higher level, strategic measures that tell the story of how well Sacramento County is doing in achieving results. Performance Measurement is a management tool to see if we are doing the right things to achieve our goals (effectiveness) and if we are achieving them in a cost effective manner (efficiency).
